Electrical Estimator

Annual Salary: $100,000K-$105,000 with complete benefit package
Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for preparing bids/proposals for commercial and industrial customers
- The Electrical Estimator participates in all aspects of the bid/estimating process
- This includes an initial review of plans, and proposal specifications, soliciting and negotiating prices from contractors/suppliers, and completion of bid/estimating effort including closeout
- In addition, performs quantity take-of scope of work and bidding of construction projects
- Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate
- Attend pre-bid meetings and tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs; participate in project review meetings to assess project performance
- Prepare estimates by calculating the complete take-off of the scope of work
- Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, software uploads, etc..
- Support other departments and personnel, as required
- May review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality and/or availability of materials
- Cultivate strong client relationships to foster repeat business and referrals,, in addition to soliciting new business; ;engage with customers on bid walks and provide technical expertise
- Provide support to field operations regarding electrical estimates
- Regularly reports to and works with the executive team on setting production targets and strategy
- Ensure strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including compliance with all regulatory requirements
Requirements
- This position requires expertise in estimating electrical construction projects, from conception to completion
- Project Management experience a plus
- Proven experience (7+ years) as an electrical estimator in commercial and industrial settings
- It also requites strong leadership qualities, organization skills, and experience and understanding of electrical engineering principles
- Strong understanding of NEC and local building codes
- Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid), QuickBooks and MS Office
